Fiery Scare in Chandauli as Delivery Pickup Ignites After Suspected Short Circuit

A delivery pickup in Chandauli’s Mendhan village caught fire after a suspected short circuit in a 33,000-volt line, sparking a major scare. Firefighters reached the scene promptly and brought the blaze under control, preventing injuries or significant damage. Police and officials are reviewing the cause of the electrical fault.

A major accident was narrowly averted in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district on Tuesday when a delivery pickup truck suddenly burst into flames, turning into a fireball within moments. The incident occurred in Mendhan village under the Dheena police station area, triggering panic among locals who witnessed the blaze spread rapidly.

According to initial information, the fire is believed to have started after a short circuit in a 33,000-volt power line connected to the vehicle. The sudden fault reportedly caused sparks that quickly engulfed the pickup, leaving little time for immediate intervention.

Emergency services were alerted without delay. A team from the Fire Department rushed to the location and engaged in a strenuous operation to contain the blaze before it could escalate further or spread to nearby structures. After sustained efforts, firefighters successfully extinguished the flames.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries or major property damage occurred, preventing what could have been a far more serious catastrophe. Local police also inspected the scene and are expected to review the electrical fault to determine whether infrastructure or vehicle-related issues contributed to the incident.
